Considered one of the hardiest variegated ferns available, the Japanese Painted Fern has unique & colorful silver, red and green fronds.  Plant in full shade in well drained, humus-rich soil which is continually moist. This fern pairs well with Primrose or dwarf Astilbe. Thrives in full shade, but best foliage color is achieved in filtered light. Plant one ft. apart for a colorful groundcover or two ft. apart for accent.
