Fresh Herb, Citronella aka Citrus Scented Geranium, Mosquito Plant
Pelargonium graveolens Citrosa

Price: $12.49

Availability: IN STOCK

Perfect for growing as a potted plant for the patio, Citronella leaves have a refreshing, citrus scent when crushed or rubbed. Vigorous growers and drought tolerant, they're also known to act as mosquito repellants when the plant's oil is rubbed onto the skin.  Deeply dissected, lacy leaves lend a textural contrast to the garden.  As they grow about 24" tall and wide, they can be used as a summer border to line a pathway or to provide interest to a mixed container planting.  This tender perennial will need to be moved inside before the first frost kills the plant. Also, high winds can damage delicate lanky plants and should be moved to a protected area.

Harvest:  Cut aromatic branches at any time for inclusion into fresh bouquets.  Or, use in jellies, teas, fruit salads, cakes and other desserts.
