Sunny With Dry Soil Sites

Save yourself a lot of grief, effort, and money by designing a garden with flowers that all have similar growing needs! If your garden spot gets direct sunlight for most of the day (like, very little shade at all), it is considered "Full Sun" and these sun-loving plants thrive in sunny sites with drier soils. They will return each year to provide color and texture. Perhaps, you will choose a main color (such as "Red") and create a colorful theme. Or, plant just a few varieties in large groups for a stunning, eye-catching flower display. Maybe just follow traditional garden designs with taller in back, a little shorter in front of that and then the shortest growers upfront. Whatever your style, please remember that even sun-loving, drought tolerant plants need to be occasionally watered, especially during the first growing season.
