This fast growing tropical perennial shrub has bright green foliage and is prized for the profusion of phlox-like, sky blue flower clusters nearly year round, with peak from spring through fall. It mounds and uprightly climbs with branches that resemble vines, reaching about 5 ft. tall to 8 ft. wide. Thriving in the Southern heat, plant this butterfly magnet in sun in a fairly well drained soil. Drought tolerant once established, be sure to water plants often the first few years. Enjoy this versatile beauty in sunny beds and borders, as a foundation planting, as a privacy hedge, even in containers set on decks and patios. This sturdy, evergreen shrub can be grown outdoors in USDA Plant Zones 9-11 only, in Zones 7-8, grown them in containers and store indoors to protect from frost and freeze. In other Zones, treat as an annual plant and discard at end of season.
