Looks like a grass, but is really part of the lily family. Clumping, evergreen perennial with abundant tufts of slender, grass-like, green leaves from which small spikes of purplish blue flowers shoot up in late summer, resembling miniature grape hyacinths. Black berries follow the flowers. Extremely hardy, resilient, 18 in. tall and wide perennial that is commonly grown as a lush edging plant, a hardy ground cover, a flowering accent, to line a driveway or pathway, or even in a container, also used in mass to fill in garden gaps between other plants, fits into all garden types. Plant in full sun to part shade, prefers filtered shade and organically rich, well drained soils. Tolerant of many soil types, except extremely wet conditions. A slowly spreading perennial and may not stay in clump form. If using as a ground cover, plant 6-9 in. apart.

  • Botanical Name:   Liriope muscari
  • Exceptionally hardy, dependable perennial
  • Deer resistant
