A lovely ground hugging plant with tiny oval glossy rich chocolate brown leaves that have burgundy and dark green undertones. Charming bloom spikes of lacy blue flowers rise above the foliage from spring to early summer, for an eye catching garden display. Forms a dense mat of 2-3 in. tall foliage and slowly spreads to 24-30 in. wide. An herbaceous perennial with a compact habit perfect for filling tight spaces and along pathways, also ideal for containers, around shrubs, between stepping stones, as a small area ground cover, to suppress weeds, or grown around rocks. Also grows under Black Walnut trees. Prefers a partially shaded site yet will tolerate full sun in cooler regions. Plant in groups for maximum effect.
