A low maintenance lanky shrub grown primarily for its 2 toned violet and light blue orchid-like flowers that resemble a butterfly in flight. Blooms in mid to late summer, thrives in heat and humidity, an open multi stemmed evergreen shrub with attractive bland green foliage. Good choice for attracting birds, bees and butterflies to the yard. Not to be confused with Buddleia Butterfly Bushes, this is a different plant, a spreading habit, choose a site where garden visitors can get a close view of the unique flowers. Grows 6-10 ft. tall in ideal conditions, which is partial shade in warm months coupled with plenty of moisture.
