Traditionally grown for its fragrant leaves and flavorful stalks, the Lemongrass foliage emits a strong lemon fragrance when crushed. Various parts of the plant are commonly used in cooking, as teas and in essential oils. Grows outside year round only in warmest climates, can be grown as an annual in cooler regions or taken indoors for the winter. Clumps multiply quickly in ideal hot humid conditions, a pretty ornamental grass with vibrant green foliage and strappy foliage. Grows in dense clumps with stiff upright stems and slender drooping blade-like leaves. Usually grows 4-6 ft. tall by 2-4 ft. wide.
